Android Developer

We are looking for an experienced Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of Android devices. You maintain platform specific modules of our game engine, port new games to the Android platform, integrate platform specific components like in-app purchase, camera and game controllers support and develop our customer facing community app. You optimize code for specific devices, identify and fix bottlenecks and bugs and maintain code quality through automation of build processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Android apps and components
  • Take part in the entire development lifecycle: design, implementation, quality assurance and bug fixing
  • Write tests and ensure proper functioning of our continuous integration process
  • Continuously keep our game engine working on as many Android devices as possible

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with the Android SDK (NDK is a plus)
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Creativity and willingness to suggest new ideas
  • Ability to work with new technologies
  • Good English skills, German is a plus

Skills

  • Strong programming background in JAVA or Kotlin
  • Experience integrating Android high level APIs into low level C++ code (NDK)
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Experience connecting apps to web services (REST, JSON)
  • Familiarity with in-app purchase APIs for Google, Amazon and other App Stores
